General Manager

Position Overview:

The General Manager (GM) will oversee all aspects of studio operations, from managing day-to-day activities to leading a team of instructors. The GM will ensure the smooth functioning of the studio, including customer service, scheduling, instructor training and continuing and overview of new exercises for instructors, Local marketing in this area (studio events, local collaborations with other companies). This is a leadership role that requires a background in fitness or wellness management, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for exercise and to grow, high energy individual.


Training Overview:

You must obtain Pilates Instructor Certification through Lawless Pilates. The cost is $600. There are ways to obtain scholarships or discounts for this program. The Certification will consist of 2 weekends of in person training and up to 2 weeks of at home/book training. Then you will be required to test out of the training in a class. After passing you will have 3-5 teachers in training class. 

Discount + Scholarships: The training fee must be paid up front. To be eligible for a discount/scholarship or training fee being paid back in full: you must finish your training within 3 weeks of start date, open availability for early mornings/late evenings and previous fitness background. The discounts/scholarships are granted to certain full time positions including GM, Assistant GM, and Shift Leads.

Cost of the training includes, level 1 printed manual books, additional levels to training, and access to the studio with a master instructor to go over routines. 

Note: as you level up, you will be required to purchase your own copies of the training manuals from Lawless Pilates CO.  

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management:

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth functioning and a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Monitor studio equipment, facility cleanliness, and maintenance to maintain a welcoming and safe environment.
  • Checking in on employees to make sure they attend their assigned class on time

2. Team Leadership and Staff Management:

  • Manage studio staff, including Pilates instructors, and Cleaning Company assigned to the studio.
  • Manage a positive, team-oriented culture and lead by example in professionalism, client service, and operational standards.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback of instructors.
  • Ensure that staff members adhere to studio policies, including punctuality, dress code, and customer service standards.

3. Client Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional service and addressing concerns or issues in a timely manner.
  • Organize and execute client events, promotions, and workshops to enhance engagement and retention.
  • Manage client communication through email, phone calls, and in-person interactions.

4. Marketing and Business Development:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the studio, including social media, local partnerships, and online presence.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitors to ensure the studio remains competitive and innovative.

5.  Scheduling and Class Management:

  • Manage class schedules to ensure optimal class sizes and instructor availability.
  • Coordinate with instructors to maintain a balanced schedule of Pilates offerings, including group classes, and Private group classes.

6.  Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all activities adhere to health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and address any potential hazards in the studio environment.
  • Stay informed about Pilates-related certifications, industry best practices, and insurance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in studio management or a related leadership role in the fitness or wellness industry (Pilates experience preferred).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • High Energy, Motivation to grow type of individual 
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in studio management software, Google Docs, and Google sheets.
  • Passion for health, wellness, and Pilates.
  • CPR certification preferred (or willing to obtain).

Assistant Manager

Reports To: Studio Manager

Position Overview:

The Pilates Studio Assistant Manager plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations and administrative functions of a high energy and customer-focused Pilates studio. This role will involve assisting in overseeing studio activities, ensuring exceptional client experiences, managing staff, and helping implement business growth strategies. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Studio Manager to maintain a positive, efficient, and welcoming environment that supports both clients and staff. Second in command, required to fill in for manager for any reason.

  • Assist in managing a positive, team-oriented culture and lead by example in professionalism, client service, and operational standards.

Pilates Instructor – Lawless Pilates Studio

Reports To: General Manager

Job Summary:

As a Pilates Instructor at Lawless Pilates CO, you will lead group classes, guide clients through pre selected class plans, and help create a positive and motivating atmosphere. You will have the opportunity to work with clients of all skill levels. Your role will include educating clients on Pilates techniques, ensuring proper form, and maintaining a safe and high energy/welcoming space for all participants.

The Certification will consist of 1-2 weekends of in person training and up to 2 weeks of at home/book training. Then you will be required to test out of the training in a class. After passing you will have 3-5 teachers in training class.

To be eligible for a discount/scholarship or training fee being paid back in full: you must finish your training within 3 weeks of start date, be able to teach a minimum of 8 hours a week, open availability for early mornings/late evenings and previous fitness background. The discounts/scholarships are granted to certain full time positions including GM, Assistant GM, and Shift Leads.

Weekend training overview: You MUST attend the 2 day weekend training to become a Pilates Teacher at Lawless Pilates CO. If you can not attend you are cut from this round of training. The training includes, going over all of level 1 class plans, injuries, pre + post natal, getting on the mic and teaching, getting to know the reformer and the springs. After you finish the training, you will have 1 month to test out of your class plan. If you do not test out within the month of training, you are then cut from the program. During that month you will have full access to the studio to practice, plus our master instructors there to help you at any point. Once you pass your test out you are then on the schedule. After teaching “75”  classes you have the option to then move up to level 2 and so on etc, the training for higher levels looks the same. Benefits of higher levels include higher pay, discounts etc. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct Group Classes: Lead a Pilates class for clients of all levels, ensuring exercises are performed with proper form and alignment, with high energy attitude.
  • Understand Class Plans: Fully Understand the prepared class plans for you. You should be able to teach classes with little to no notes usage. With a full understanding of springs and correct form for each exercise. ( you will be provided with everything you need) 
  • Ensure Client Safety and Well-being: Monitor and correct clients’ form to prevent injury while providing modifications for varying abilities.
  • Client Engagement: Build relationships with clients, provide encouragement, and create a sense of community within the studio.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records for clients, including attendance, socks/clothing purchases, and understand software.
  • Studio Maintenance: Assist in keeping the studio clean, organized, and make sure all machines are still functioning properly.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest trends in Pilates and continue to advance your certification levels through Lawless Pilates Training.
  • Hours: Must be able to work a minimum of 6 hours per week

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prefer fitness industry experience. A studio setting is a plus. Prior experience with reformers/taken a pilates class in the past.
  • Knowledge: An understanding of pilates principles, anatomy, and injury prevention techniques.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills with an ability to provide clear instructions, motivate clients, keep high energy.
  • Professionalism: Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a positive and professional attitude with clients and team members.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to demonstrate exercises, demonstrate how to use a reformer, and maintain a high level of personal fitness.
  • Medical: First aid and CPR certification.
